Hi there! I’m Sylvania Peng, a junior at the Peddie School in New Jersey.

Ever since I can remember, art has been my favorite way to express myself. From painting to charcoal sketches, photography to film, I’ve always found joy in exploring the world through different creative lenses. But my journey into architecture began in an unexpected place—history.

Growing up, my dad, a self-proclaimed history geek, would take me to museums and historical sites. At first, I was just along for the ride. But somewhere along the way, our roles flipped. I fell in love with the stories behind architectural wonders—the designs, the creators, and the way these structures shape the world around us. Soon, I was the one researching landmarks before every trip, sharing their history with him.

Now, architecture has become both my passion and my journey. For me, it’s more than just appreciating stunning structures—it’s about uncovering the stories of the people who built them, the cultures that shaped them, and the creativity they inspire. As someone who thrives on connection, I love sharing this curiosity with others who see the beauty and meaning in the spaces that surround us.
